Mission to Buy
The Hong Kong Houseware Fair and World of Pet Supplies are big hit with international buyers. Aimed at big companies with strong purchasing power, it has attracted 106 buying missions, representing over 3,200 companies or nearly 5,000 buyers from more than 40 countries and regions.
More than 2,000 buyers from emerging markets are taking part in the HKTDC Hong Kong Houseware Fair, 20-23 April, an increase of more than 50 per cent over last year’s show. Assistant Executive Director of the HKTDC Raymond Yip (centre) meets with some of the new market buyers.

Hear What Buyers Say
We specialise in innovative, multifunctional electronic products for the Russian market. I’ve come here for the first time to find new directions for us – I’ve already located items such as an automatic pet feeder. Although people in Russia have pets, you don’t find these types of products there. This is a very good fair that offers new possibilities for our company.
Igor Glotov, Co-owner, A&EL Company, Russia

I have come here to find new products and new markets – I’m looking for electronic home appliances, and have already seen some massagers that are interesting. The organisation of the fair is very good – the HKTDC arranged everything for me in advance and gave me a lot of information about exhibitors and so on.

Hear What Exhibitors Say
This is a major international houseware show and our company’s presence is important - we've been exhibiting since 1996. We will meet most of our customers here and get to meet with new buyers as well. Additionally, being an exhibitor at the Hall of Elegance, we hope it will also help to build our own brand, Thomson Pottery.
Anna Lam, General Manager, China Pearl (HK) Company Limited, Hong Kong

We have been exhibiting at this show for six years and we’ve seen the numbers of textile companies here growing in that time to become a specialist section. We see a lot of our international buyers here – our customers include big retail chains. We believe the organisation of the fair is very efficient for the buyers.
Félicie Rysman, Designer, Consolidate Merchandise Associates, Belgium

Most of our overseas buyers, from markets around the world, visit this fair and we generate more business here than at any other event. This year we are taking advantage of the fair to launch the STA-Sharp razor set to the international market – we are particularly looking for direct TV customers and other distributors across Europe. You can make a lot of connections at this fair.
Franco Law, Proprietor, Ever-Fresh International Limited, Hong Kong

Inhesion is marking its 30th anniversary in business this year at our booth. We have been attending this houseware event for more than 15 years, because we can meet both existing and new customers here, showing them our latest products and designs as well as our capabilities.
Tracie Tong, Sales & Marketing Manager, Inhesion Industrial Co., Ltd., Hong Kong

REE-YONG shares HKTDC's view that pet furniture is a part of the home interior. This is a perfect opportunity to meet new buyers not only from pet specialty stores but also from design and lifestyle stores. Nowadays, more and more people treat their pets as members of the family and pet owners with stylish interiors prefer pet-furniture that blends in with their decor.
Ree-Yong Yuen, Designer & Founder, Ree-Yong, Hong Kong

Topchoice has been exhibiting here for more than a decade. The event acts as a platform for meeting our existing customers to let them know about our new concepts, ideas and trends, and how we can help them by adding value to the products. We notice that the HKTDC has been putting a lot of effort into bringing more VIP buyers to the fair.
