Toast to Success
The Dragon Lounge was the venue on Monday night for the networking reception for the fair, bringing together HKTDC officials, industry players, VIP buyers and international media. As well as enjoying the drinks and snacks, guests also took part in a lucky draw.

Top Chef Shows of Global Brands
Go On Global Co Ltd certainly found the recipe for success on Tuesday. It invited top Hong Kong chef Yeung Koon-yat to cook up a storm using two high-quality European brands of kitchenware distributed by Go On Global, namely fine hand-held mixers from Bamix of Switzerland and stylish Woll cookware from Germany.

Time Out to Meet
HKTDC executives, exhibitors and the Chinese mainland buyers took a break from the serious business of the fair to mingle at a networking luncheon, to discuss the latest developments in the industry and get to know one another better.

Hear What Exhibitors Say
This is our first time here. We want to demonstrate to the market that we are ready for every situation, despite the financial crisis. We’ve put a lot of effort into our booth design, as well as displaying our latest developments and unique items, because being here sends out a good message. Next year we will be back – with another new booth design that’s even more eye-catching!
Michael Michaely, Executive VP, Bergner (HK) Limited, Hong Kong

We’ve been exhibiting at this fair for more than 15 years. It gives us the opportunity to meet with our existing clients, and show our new designs to more buyers. With the creation of a separate show for textiles next year, I believe we will see even more marketing efforts.
Donny Ho, Marketing Director, Bontex Industrial Company, Hong Kong

One of the most important aspects of this fair is that we can see our existing customers face-to-face and spend quality time with them. We also take the opportunity to promote new items – this year we’ve been getting good response to our Titum stainless steel cookware and Aquaris chilled beverage pitcher.
Andy K. Sun, Sales & Marketing Director, Kin Hip Metal & Plastic Factory Ltd., Hong Kong

This show is an icon and it is a very important showcase for us. This year, as well as the latest offerings from Lynns Concepts, we are also presenting the new image for our Loveramics brand. We've been seeing more buyers from the Chinese mainland this year and that is important as it is a growing market for us.
Ling Lam, Senior Sales & Marketing Manager, Lynns Concepts Limited, Hong Kong

We’ve been very busy and we’ve seen buyers from all over the world, including US, UK, Japan, Argentina and Russia. The fair organisation is very professional – HKTDC has invited plenty of VIP buyers from overseas. As well as pet specialists, we’ve also seen lots of different buyers from the houseware industry, such as chain stores, garden centres and importers.
Catherine Chow, Director, The Petsland International Co. Ltd., Hong Kong

We’ve been exhibiting at this fair for more than 10 years and we get a good response from buyers. Many of our regular customers, including big chains and department stores, come here every year to visit us. The purpose of the show has changed for us over the years – now it is mainly about promoting our image.

Hear What Buyers Say
Already I have found new suppliers here with whom I will start working. They include a Hong Kong manufacturer of glassware – the quality is very good and the price is more competitive than my existing suppliers in Europe. The organisation of the fair is very nice – the halls are easy to visit, the layout is clear and simple, plus the HKTDC office in France does a wonderful job.
Tarek El Maghalawy, Commercial Manager, Arts & Civilisations, France

Coming to this show gives us the opportunity to see what’s new and what’s available in the market today. We can sit down and talk with manufacturers about raw materials, inventories, lead times and get a better understanding of their business. This is a wonderful fair, especially now the new extension is open – the environment is very welcoming.
Robert Francis, Divisional Merchandise Manager, Duckwall-ALCO Stores, Inc., US

We are an importer and wholesaler of home textiles, and we’ve come to this fair for the first time. We’ve been very interested to make contact with a Hong Kong manufacturer that, like us, has a licence from Disney to produce textile items for the home. This fair is good because you see manufacturers from countries such as India and Vietnam, as well as the Chinese mainland. The set-up of the fair is very nice – everything is easy to find.
Stanislaw Zielinski, Owner, FARO Tekstylia, Poland

My company is a retailer in pet products with 37 locations in Canada. The HKTDC invited our company to visit World of Pet Supplies and we were able to take advantage of the sponsorship package. The show is well run - there are a lot of people around to answer my questions and everything has run very smoothly for me.
Brad Hamilton, Vice President, PJ's Pets, Canada

Launch of the Latest Products
The Product Demo & Launch Pad offers companies a superb chance to give buyers a close up view of their products in action. Five exhibitors took their turn at Oasis, Hall 1, and drew a good crowd of interested onlookers.
