“In business since 1981, House of York is a major manufacturer of wooden houseware in South Africa. We source high quality pine and eucalyptus saligna wood to produce a wide range of products from cutlery trays and butler’s trays to wine racks, step stools, decor cubes and ironing boards. Our main markets are South Africa and the Middle East. This is our first-time participation in Hong Kong Houseware Fair to increase the awareness of our brand and get orders internationally. We’ve met some buyers from Australia, the UK and the Chinese mainland in the first couple of hours. They really like our products and their quality. We will provide pricing details to them and discuss further for orders. Our products are all made in South Africa and come in modern and contemporary design. We are keen to grow internationally and the Hong Kong fair offers a good opportunity to expand our export markets.”
Justin Mazoue, Export Manager, House of York, South Africa (Booth: 5B-B02)
“We are making a debut presence here for the worldwide launch of our Bzyoo brand. As Hong Kong Houseware Fair is a long-established and very important trade event with a global appeal, we believe this is the best place to release the new brand. Our main collections are dinnerware and tableware, coming in simple design with a bold statement and dramatic graphic prints. There are four key patterns with the colour pairing of black and white or blue and white. Our minimum order is set at one carton catering to the needs of different buyers. We’ve received very good responses. We met two retailers from the UK in the morning and they’re looking to come back and place orders this afternoon. A large retailer from Turkey also expressed an interest in working with us for exclusive designs and we will discuss further in this respect. We’re very encouraged by the feedback and feel confident of the exhibition results.”
Michael Cleghorn, Consultant, Perfection Worldwide Limited, Anguila (Booth: 1D-D09)

"Brexint is an importer of electronic appliances and houseware products in India. We also operate a chain of 30 retail shops in the northern region of the country. This is my first visit to Hong Kong Houseware Fair to look for different items such as home appliances, eco-friendly houseware and beauty-related products. I've already found 15 to 20 potential suppliers from Taiwan, Korea, Japan and Hong Kong. I'm especially impressed by the interesting houseware products provided by a Japanese exhibitor and a Hong Kong supplier because they are made of recycled materials and environmentally friendly. These innovative items will help me develop business in a niche market. It will take some time to discuss details but I plan to place initial orders worth about US$50,000 to test the market response. This is a very specialised fair offering a good platform to inspect products and interact with suppliers."
Sanjiv Verma, CEO, Brexint, India
"Established in 2009, Ensogo is one of the five largest online retailers in Thailand. We are selling a wide range products from travel to home & living, electronic appliances, baby & kids items. Our sales extend to five major markets across Asia including Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, the Philippines and Malaysia. I am visiting Hong Kong Houseware Fair for the first time to find gadgets and new items such as kitchenware, houseware, cooking utensils, beauty and pet products. The business matching services arranged by HKTDC have enabled me to go directly to the booths of specific exhibitors, making the sourcing process more efficient. So far, I've already identified 9 to 10 potential suppliers for different products. We will look into details and negotiate further to conclude deals with the best of them. This fair has been well organised with a great variety of products from suppliers all over the world. There's a good mix of western and Asian designs on offer. I would like to visit the fair again to find more innovative products and meet more business partners."
Mongkol Prechavanitsakul, General Manager of Retail, Ensogo, Thailand

“Craftex produces handmade bath mats, kitchen mats, outdoor mats and area rugs in India. Currently, our products are exported to more than 40 countries and regions. A lot of buyers have come to the Hong Kong fair because April is a good sourcing season. The HKTDC has also done a good job in promoting the fair and bringing a lot of buyers to the fair. At this year’s fair, our main goals are to market our new products and to establish contacts with new buyers. We had a busy morning today and got serious enquiries from new buyers from Australia, Germany and Japan because they like the colours, designs and quality of our products. We expect to receive orders from them.”
Anirudh Rathore, Owner, Craftex India, India (Booth: 3B-C07)
“We specialise in the production of 100-per cent cotton towels in Indonesia. About 80 per cent of our products are sold in the domestic market while the rest are exported to Europe and Japan. This is our first exhibition at the Hong Kong International Home Textiles and Furnishings Fair. We are keen to expand our export business while promoting our Terry Palmer brand to international buyers. Many multinational companies have set up their buying offices in Hong Kong, so the Hong Kong fair is an ideal place for us to develop new business. We have met with potential buyers from Hong Kong, Taiwan and the United Arab Emirates on the first day of the fair. It’s a good start.”
Tenti Aizah, Sales Manager, PT. Terry Palmer Indonesia, Indonesia (Booth: 3B-D06)

“We supply home textiles and furnishings to wholesalers and retailers in Latin America. It’s our second time visiting the Hong Kong International Home Textiles and Furnishings Fair. It’s a good fair where we can find what we want. It’s also a nice place to do business. So far, we have found 20-30 different items from China, the Philippines and Vietnam which are suitable for our customers because their quality and designs are very good. Our business is doing well in Latin America, so we’ll continue to come to the Hong Kong fair regularly to source new products to meet the needs of our customers.”
Mauricio Aguiar, Commercial Director, Eurovetro Import & Export, Brazil
“Marcopolo is an importer that provides all kinds of products to mail-order companies and kitchenware retailers in France. The Hong Kong International Home Textiles and Furnishings Fair is the right place for me to find new ideas and new items for my clients and that’s why I visit the fair every year. Last year, I found a lot of good products from Bangladesh and India and concluded my orders after the fair. This year I am looking for table cloths, table mats and napkins, and I am sure I can find a lot of good suppliers here.”
Stéphane Lobbens, Owner, Marcopolo, France
